Eugène Henri Paul Gauguin was a leading Post-Impressionist painter whose impact in the Symbolist movement and Synthetist style of modern art was profound.

The artist did not embark on his life as a painter like many artists. Before creating various Oil Paintings that would be attributed to the talented artist. Eugène Henri Paul Gauguin worked as a stockbroker and moved a lot in his younger days from France to Peru and then to Denmark. Eugène Henri Paul Gauguin had the great fortune of Painted Art alongside painters such as Vincent Van Gogh and Eugène Henri Paul Gauguin Cezanne in his artistic career. During Eugène Henri Paul Gauguin's artistic career his Oil Paintings did not generate great recognition to what modern art would attribute to the artist's Painted Arts. Rather the painter had struggled to make ends meet and was even charged with a felony prior to his death.

Many of Eugène Henri Paul Gauguin's Painted Arts involved the bold use of color and various themes involving indigenous people from island villages.

This is attributed to the determination of Eugène Henri Paul Gauguin to create Painted Arts away from European cities and immerse himself in surroundings where he would feed off fish and fruits. This led the painter to spend time in Martinique where Eugène Henri Paul Gauguin was truly impressed with.

Besides creating Oil Paintings and various other Painted Arts revolving the island way of life, Eugène Henri Paul Gauguin was an ardent artist in the truest sense. Eugène Henri Paul Gauguin was also considered to be a prominent sculptor, printmaker, ceramist and writer.

Despite leaving his profession as a stockbroker and pursuing the dream of being an artist, Eugène Henri Paul Gauguin suffered bouts of depression and at one point in time he even contemplated committing suicide.

If the viewer takes a look at this Painted Art they will first notice that it is a scene that contains figures of island people. There is a vivid use of colors and the Painted Art is bright. There are two women seated and their dress signifies two age groups.

Their stares are aimed away from one another while their body languages speak of their own personality. There is an intelligent use of shading in the Painted Art and this leads one to believe that Eugène Henri Paul Gauguin had studied the effects of shading for his Oil Paintings.
